Stephanie Riffle of Windber was hired as Director of Nursing at The Patriot, a Choice Community in March, 2023.
“This is a great opportunity to utilize my skills, knowledge and experience to provide quality, client-centered health care to residents and their families,” she said. “I am happy to join the staff here at The Patriot.”
In this role, Stephanie will be responsible for leading and supervising the nursing staff and administering care for the residents. She brings more than 12 years of nursing experience to the role, ranging from Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse and Assistant Director of Nursing positions at several regional facilities.
Riffle earned her nursing degree from Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, PA, and holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
She replaces Joel Airesman, who was promoted to The Patriot’s Nursing Home Administrator position on March 3, replacing interim administrator Barb Smith.
“We welcome Stephanie’s enthusiasm and experience,” said Airesman. “She is a great fit to our team here at The Patriot.”
The Patriot is a Somerset County mainstay for many reasons, including promoting staff from within its ranks. That is evident by the promotions of Airesman and of Ashley Shawley, who was named Assistant Director of Nursing.
